About The Position

The Retail Risk & Compliance Manager at IKEA is responsible for overseeing the safety and security of the retail environment, ensuring compliance with various regulations, and managing the Risk & Compliance team. This role involves implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with external agencies to protect the IKEA brand and its assets. The manager will also focus on developing team members and enhancing the overall customer shopping experience through effective risk management practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of previous retail Safety & Security Management experience or IKEA Risk & Compliance experience.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding safety, security, and risk in retail.
  • Experience running and implementing comprehensive safety and security programs.
  • Experience performing risk assessments and investigating safety and security incidents.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Experience with crisis management and compliance monitoring.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and information security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Hires, onboards, and trains co-workers.
  • Directs the overall selection and development of co-workers.
  • Creates individual development plans to secure succession.
  • Manages resource planning and co-worker relations issues.
  • Oversees the day-to-day performance of the Risk & Compliance team.
  • Executes compliance tasks including assessments, training, and reporting related to policies and regulations.
  • Oversees the safety and security of people and property within the site/unit.
  • Establishes and updates various business plans and action plans.
  • Initiates, monitors, and responds to internal and external incidents.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for liability claims and insurance matters.
  • Minimizes theft and fraud, providing support for internal investigations.
  • Leads the unit's physical security and safety programs.
  • Works closely with outside agencies to ensure compliance with safety and security laws.
