The Retail Relationship Banker at BMO is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers and prospects, identifying their needs, and providing advice on financial solutions that align with their best interests. The role involves engaging with existing customers and prospects through needs-based assessments to foster loyalty and identify opportunities. The banker will recommend tailored solutions for everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing, and small business solutions. Additionally, the banker will support customer transactions, generate appointments, and build relationships within the community. The position requires compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, risk management, and maintaining knowledge of personal banking products and trends. The banker will also be involved in identifying suspicious activity related to money laundering and ensuring the protection of the bank's assets.

  • Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable.
  • Registration to sell investment products (Canada only).
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs.
  • Experience in financial services is an asset.
  • Confident in using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
  • Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with customers.
  • Aptitude for listening, solving problems, and responding flexibly.
