The Retail Relationship Banker delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying their financial needs and providing tailored advice and guidance. This role involves working collaboratively within the branch and with BMO partners to achieve business objectives and enhance the customer experience. Key responsibilities include proactively engaging with existing customers and prospects, conducting needs-based assessments to identify immediate and future opportunities, and recommending a range of financial solutions such as everyday banking, retail investments, lending, home financing (including business-for-self applications), and small business solutions. The banker also advises clients on digital and self-serve banking options, supports customer transactions, and actively works to grow BMO’s business by generating appointments and building community relationships. The position requires addressing issues from consumer credit audits, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and applying the risk management framework to protect bank assets and maintain lending portfolio quality. The banker makes credit recommendations for personal lending, acts as a key team member, and integrates marketing promotions into customer conversations. They are expected to organize work for accuracy, contribute to improving the customer experience, and follow risk and compliance policies, including identifying suspicious activities related to money laundering. The role demands staying current with the financial services marketplace and upholding ethical industry requirements. This position involves completing complex tasks, analyzing issues, and may require working at multiple branches or through various channels with a flexible schedule.
