This role is responsible to assist with preparing, monitoring, and evaluating long range strategic plans and annual budgets, leveraging the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) function, capital planning and analysis, and analyzing performance against established financial targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.   Our vision as a Decision Support organization is to be the “insights engine” of Nutrien Ag Solutions; this means closely partnering with commercial business unit leadership to provide data driven financial analysis and insight to guide forecasting, capital allocation and decision making.  We are looking for a candidate who is innovative and able to adopt emerging data technology tools to elevate FP&A processes and capture efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required; an MBA or equivalent is preferred.
  • 8+ years of related accounting or financial experience.
  • Progressive leadership skills developed over a minimum of 2 years.
  • Previous experience working on large, highly complex projects with significant business impact.
  • Excellent financial systems acumen with a strong information technology mindset and orientation.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and across business units, balancing the needs of Corporate and Retail.
  • Operational excellence and performance improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning.
  • Experience with large ERP systems and various management reporting tools.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and internal stakeholders in a multi‑tasking, deadline‑driven team environment.
  • Solution‑oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the consolidated Retail budget and annual operating plan for North American Retail.
  • Support the development and implementation of project-level capital processes.
  • Provide discounted cash flows and business cases for capital projects.
  • Drive analytics and insights related to North American Retail Operations budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation.
  • Support the Senior Regional Finance Manager with the consolidated view for forecasting and planning for North American Retail Field Operations.
  • Facilitate enhancements in FP&A processes, including integration with Integrated Business Planning (IBP).
  • Support strategic growth targets by tracking performance through key KPIs.
  • Drive Corporate Finance initiatives such as acquisitions, business integrations, and capital investments.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly commentary on business financial and operational results.
  • Ensure Retail divisions adhere to global standards and ways of working.
  • Standardize key management reports across the North American regions to create efficiencies and consistency.
  • Lead quarterly and annual benchmark analysis related to division, branch, and salesperson performance.
  • Provide leadership within the Retail Finance Decision Support organization, including development of financial analysts and supporting team members.
  • Apply effective people leadership skills by leading the team through performance management, career development, and budget management.
  • Foster engagement within Retail Finance through clarity, competence, influence, and recognition.
  • Provide support and feedback to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying opportunities for new training and skill development.
