About The Position

The Retail Product Support Sales Representative is an outside sales role responsible for selling products to business and industrial establishments or individuals. The primary focus is on obtaining orders and contracts for products or services, with regular engagement away from the company's place of business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to set and achieve challenging goals and demonstrate persistence.
  • Ability to self-measure against a standard of excellence.
  • Tolerance for and capacity to take calculated risks to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in various situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and listen to others without interrupting.

Responsibilities

  • Document lists of prospective customers in the CRM system based on various sources.
  • Pre-qualify sales leads for follow-up by the outside sales force.
  • Call regular and prospective customers to solicit orders.
  • Display or demonstrate products using samples or catalogs, emphasizing features and benefits.
  • Quote prices and credit terms; prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and maintain expense accounts.
  • Collaborate with other inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Coordinate customer training.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data into the computer database.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.
  • Investigate and resolve customer problems.
