Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of the in‑house Pharmacy Support Assistant entry‑level training program
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand basic English
  • None required
  • No prior experience required

Responsibilities

  • Perform cash handling duties and opening/closing clerical procedures
  • Deliver medications to locker systems and support the Meds‑to‑Beds program
  • Provide exceptional customer service during pharmacy and OTC transactions
  • Bag, file, and prepare prescriptions for patient pickup
  • Use dispensing and point‑of‑sale systems accurately
  • Manage supply inventory and place replenishment orders
  • Monitor inventory for outdated items; complete cycle counts
  • Answer phones and route calls appropriately
  • Contact patients or prescribers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking medications and supplies
  • Maintain files and organize historical prescription storage
  • Complete prescription pickup reminder calls and return‑to‑stock processes
  • Coordinate deliveries and payments for Meds‑to‑Beds patients
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
