About The Position

The Pharmacy Cashier/Delivery Driver plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive safe, timely, and courteous pharmacy services. This position combines excellent customer service, accurate cashiering, and dependable delivery support to help keep the pharmacy running smoothly. This position works closely with pharmacy staff, patients, and external partners while maintaining strict confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and safety standards. This role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who enjoys working with people, multitasking, and contributing to high-quality patient care both inside and outside the pharmacy.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid and active Nebraska driver’s license required.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
  • Basic computer and printer knowledge.
  • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to work with purpose and a sense of urgency.
  • No convictions for any non-alcohol, drug-related misdemeanor or felony.
  • Ability to learn and utilize job-specific software functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service while maintaining patient privacy and professionalism.
  • Answer and triage phone calls; collect, enter, and update patient demographic, insurance, and prescription information.
  • Perform Point of Sale transactions, including cash handling, drawer balancing, and deposit preparation.
  • Support pharmacy operations by maintaining clean, organized, and secure work areas; ensuring proper medication labeling, storage, and removal of outdated stock.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking orders, preparing returns, managing outdates, ordering front-end merchandise, setting sale ads, and using wholesaler ordering systems.
  • Complete clerical duties such as filing prescriptions, patient assistance paperwork, invoices, audits, and related documentation.
  • Deliver medications and pharmacy stock to patients, facilities, clinics, businesses, and PMC locations; package mail-out prescriptions; load and unload delivery vehicles.
  • Follow all safety, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements; wear required safety gear; maintain vehicle logs; refuel vehicles; communicate with pharmacy staff; and report vehicle or delivery issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the pharmacy department within the scope of the Pharmacy Cashier/Delivery Driver role.
