About The Position

Per Diem Pharmacist needed to cover both Bedford and Manchester Retail Pharmacy locations, varied shifts. Location hours Mon-Fri 7am-7PM Sat 830AM-5PM Sun CLOSED. About Elliot Retail Pharmacy Elliot Pharmacy provides high-quality and personal prescription services to patients in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, including those whose providers are outside the Elliot network. We offer a variety of value-added services, including vaccinations, adherence packaging, meds-to-beds, shipping, and non-hazardous compounding. In addition, we are a designated specialty pharmacy with access to many hard-to-find medications. Our pharmacists, technicians and front-store team are committed to building long-term collaborative relationships with our patients and helping them become and stay well. About the Job Provides centralized medication access support for Elliot Health System patients.

Requirements

• Degree in Pharmacy from an institution accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education.
• Current New Hampshire license to practice Pharmacy

Nice To Haves

• Five years of previous health system pharmacy experience preferred.
• Board Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, reviews and submits requests for prescription prior authorization.
• Interprets physicians’ prescriptions and creates orders, accesses, inputs and retrieves prescription information from the electronic medical record and provides next steps for patient access.
• Consults with patients, physicians and clinic office staff regarding access to and use of medications.
• Conducts quality assurance and drug utilization reviews.
• Follows clinical guidelines set by medical staff and evaluate patient history in making clinical decisions.
• Coordinates medication patient assistance programs and low-cost alternatives for patients.
• Provides medication counseling to patients.
• Provides In-service education and other educational services upon request to Elliot Physician Practices, staff and patients.
• Responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of pharmacy technicians.
