What You Should Know About the Retail Pharmacist: Monday, Tues, PDN This position is based within Jefferson Regional Retail Pharmacy Job Summary:A retail pharmacist plays a crucial role in the healthcare industry by ensuring the safe and effective distribution of pharmaceutical drugs and medication to patients. This role is responsible for dispensing prescription medications to patients and offering expertise in the safe use of prescriptions. The Pharmacist provides advice on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, conduct health and wellness screenings, provide immunizations, and oversee the medications given to patients. They are responsible for fulfilling prescriptions, overseeing daily technician duties, and offering expert advice to patients on their prescriptions.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Masters Degree in Pharmacy required.
• Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
• Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
• This is a safety sensitive position.
• 1 year retail pharmacy experience as pharmacy tech or pharmacist required
• Comprehensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including drug interactions, dosage requirements, and side effects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and pharmacy staff.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications and reviewing prescriptions.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management software and other technology used for dispensing and managing medication records.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy preferred.
• 5 years retail pharmacy experience as a pharmacist preferred
• Previous 340b pharmacy/medication experience preferred
