Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and pharmacy efficiency. Your primary focus will be the effective operation of the Retail Pharmacy and expert patient care: Retail Operations Management: Manage and optimize the day-to-day functional operations, including interpreting prescriptions, accurately dispensing medications, and streamlining crucial inventory processes (procurement, cycle counting). Clinical Review & Patient Safety: Provide expert consultation by conducting continuous rigorous clinical review of patient records to proactively monitor for efficient drug therapy, drug interactions, and adverse reactions, ensuring patient safety across all age groups. Staff Supervision: Supervise, direct, and guide the daily workflow and activities of pharmacy technician staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and compliance. Compliance & Administration: Uphold all Colorado State and Federal licensure requirements, ensure all required clinical documentation is performed, and manage administrative duties related to 340B program compliance and retail financial reporting. Hospital Support: Serve as a secondary resource for essential clinical coverage and support to the Inpatient Pharmacist only as needed (e.g., during scheduled leave or emergencies). This may include providing Medication Therapy Management (MTM) and patient chart review during coverage periods. Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy is required.
  • Current State of Colorado Pharmacist license is required.
  • Prior retail pharmacy experience is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of retail pharmacy software and business applications with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Demonstrated proficient technical/clinical skills and operational knowledge of equipment.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality, adhering to all organizational privacy policies and regulations.
  • Ability to interpret complex safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and speak effectively before groups.
  • Strong reasoning ability to apply basic arithmetic operations (money, weight, volume, distance) and use sound judgment to resolve problems in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) or more years of strong clinical experience in an acute care setting is beneficial for the occasional coverage function.
  • MTM certification is preferred.
