About The Position

The Retail Merchandiser is responsible for the timely and visually consistent placement of shop owner merchandise within Painted Tree locations. This role ensures products are properly tagged, merchandised, and presented according to Painted Tree’s visual standards while supporting a positive experience for both shop owners and customers. The Merchandiser works independently while maintaining close communication with shop owners and store leadership. This is an Independent Contractor position.

Requirements

• Expected to work 15–20 hours per week.
• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Basic knowledge of power tools (e.g., drills, screwdrivers) required for merchandising tasks.
• Demonstrated sense of visual design and attention to detail.
• Strong time-management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and performance expectations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow visual standards and brand guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet defined deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Basic working knowledge of retail point-of-sale (POS) systems or the ability to learn quickly.
• Comfortable using basic power tools such as drills and screwdrivers for merchandising needs.
• Physically capable of lifting, moving, and positioning merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with shop owners and store leadership.
• Ability to take clear, well-composed photos using a mobile device for documentation and review.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Availability to work 15–20 hours per week, including flexibility to accommodate shipment arrivals.

• Previous experience in merchandising, retail, visual display, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with shop owners regarding expected shipment arrival dates and merchandising timelines.
• Verify that shop owners have entered all required product information into the point-of-sale (POS) system prior to tagging.
• Tag and merchandise products efficiently, with a target completion timeframe of within 48 hours of shipment arrival (timing may vary based on volume and circumstances).
• Merchandise products according to established visual standards and brand guidelines.
• Take and submit clear, well-lit photos of completed merchandising to shop owners for review.
• Complete one revision per shop owner request before finalizing the display.
• Accurately track and report hours worked to the Assistant District Manager.
• Maintain a professional presence while working in-store and interacting with shop owners and leadership.
