About The Position

As a Retail Merchandise & Planning Specialist at JACK & JONES, you will be responsible for analyzing market trends, selecting product assortments, and ensuring that the buying strategy aligns with store needs and customer preferences. You’ll work closely with the merchandising and operations teams in HQ Denmark to understand global direction and implement it in the U.S. market, making sure it fits local customer demand and store performance. You’ll track performance and ensure that the right products are in-store at the right time to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retail merchandising and allocation preferably within menswear and accessories
  • Proven experience in merchandising processes, product packaging, assortment building. and visual merchandising principles.
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to work confidently with reports, planning files, and performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience in markdown strategies, conducting store visits, and managing stock transfers to optimize sell-through.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
  • US based with remote/hybrid schedule (NY, NJ, or PA preferred).
  • Ability to travel weekly (1-2 days) for store visits, plus 2-4 international trips annually to Canada and Denmark.

  • Awareness of US tax and import regulations (asset).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute seasonal and in-season merchandise plans aligned with the chain assortment strategy.
  • Analyze sales, inventory, and market trends to support assortment decisions and maximize profitability.
  • Partner with buying and merchandising teams to ensure product strategies align with customer preferences and store profiles.
  • Manage product allocation across US stores, ensuring optimal stock levels based on performance and demand.
  • Conduct weekly store visits (1-2 days) to assess inventory, gather insights, and adjust allocation strategies.
  • Support alignment with global inventory and planning teams through a remote/hybrid base in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and periodic international travel to Canada and Denmark.
  • Provide sell-through insights to influence future buys.
  • Analyze market performance, categories, and concepts to shape a data-driven buying strategy that supports store needs and customer demand.
  • Ensure products assortments and packaging fit each store, checking value, margins and commitments to offer the right options in-store.
  • Drive continuous performance optimization through data analysis, stock flow management (NOOS), and sales curve monitoring.
  • Strengthen profitability by evaluating buying effectiveness, managing old stock, and preparing product assortments for new store openings.
  • Maximize sales potential by tracking competitor activity, coordinating stock transfers, and informing future buying strategies.
