About The Position

This position is key to surpassing financial targets through strategic product placement, impactful signage, and timely product deliveries. Analyzing sales, on hands and program performance will allow the Retail Analyst to make recommendations that will help maintain optimal store inventory levels for the retail stores at Colonial Williamsburg. Other responsibilities include merchandise distribution to stores, serving as the point person for ensuring merchandise flows smoothly from the warehouse out to stores by working with both the warehouse leadership and Operations Manager. Support of the Senior Buyer will allow store set up and merchandise levels are consistent with plans. This position will support store teams by being the point of contact for the stores merchandise requests and needs. This position will also support projects essential to the success of our merchandising strategies, maintaining high standards that meet client and consumer expectations and shaping the shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Merchandising or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working as a buyer or buyer assistant for a mid to large volume store.
  • Working proficiency of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working as a merchandiser, stocker or cashier.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Proficiency with computer applications related to the retail industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up new vendors and creates items in POS System, issues Purchase Orders and maintains data integrity (UPC, Product Description, Cost, Retail Price, Inventory, etc.) for products purchased
  • Assists with physical store inventories, stocking stores, merchandising and creating new product information for retail stores teams as needed.
  • Works with Senior Retail Buyer and Visual Merchandising Manager to plan store planograms and assist with revisions seasonally.
  • Analyzes, recommends and maintains optimal store inventory levels. Recommends stock balancing and min max levels for all stores.
  • Assists store teams in managing assortments set by Buyer
  • Participates in assortment planning process and makes recommendations to support allocation strategies. Provides analysis and research to support allocation and stock levels.
  • Works with Warehouse manager to help guide distribution strategies to optimally time replenishments.
  • Reviews case packs, order flow recommendations and store feedback related to assortment
  • Analyzes store-level inventory productivity and makes recommendations for adjustments to merchandise to leadership based on business trends
  • Consumable purchase order management responsibilities including the creation, communication and execution of purchase orders utilizing internal systems as well as vendor support
  • Leads the tracking and coordination of new items to ensure a smooth transition from warehouse to stores.
