About The Position

The Retail Manager is responsible for the management and operation of the Retail Outlets and the day to day functions that align with the department’s long term goals and objectives, provide excellent customer service, and actively contribute to the department requirements and standards.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • One to two years’ experience in a luxury hotel preferred
  • Two to three years’ experience in retail management
  • Strong emphasis in customer service
  • Exceptional guest recovery skills
  • Must possess a positive attitude
  • Must be willing to participate in a learning environment
  • Must integrate company values throughout all interactions
  • Must be dependable and available to work within the resort on weekends, nights and/or holidays based on business demands
  • Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
  • Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.

Responsibilities

  • Complete store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning associates; following up on work results.
  • Responsible for management of inventory includes inventory controls, re-orders, and working within budget guidelines.
  • Maintain store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintain store results by coaching and counseling associates.
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with customers and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by approving contracts; maintaining inventories.
  • Market merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyze operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
  • Secure merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Ensure that retail operations meets hotel standards for a memorable guest experience with a keen focus on a well trained staff able to perfect the basics.
  • Place any necessary reorders in a timely fashion and follow up on any pending orders.
  • Ensure all new products are on the floor in a timely manner and that back stock in clearly organized in the storage room.
