About The Position

The Retail Manager - Merchandising position at Michaels involves leading and supporting inventory management and merchandising standards to ensure a well-stocked and well-merchandised store for customers. The role includes delivering friendly customer service and assisting customers in finding products. The manager will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies, while also managing the truck processes and leading teams to meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Responsibilities also include managing planogram processes, shrink and safety programs, and serving as Manager on Duty (MOD). The position requires maintaining seasonal sets and visual merchandising standards, as well as participating in talent development activities and performance management of team members.

Requirements

  • Retail merchandising and customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to move throughout the store.
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Manager in leading and managing adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Company programs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Manage and support the truck processes and lead teams to ensure standards are met.
  • Achieve personal and team KPIs.
  • Manage, execute and support the planogram process (POG's) to standard.
  • Manage and execute shrink and safety programs.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Maintain seasonal sets and feature space to visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and training of new team members.
  • Support Talent Development activities and participate in Performance Management activities.
  • Interact with others in a respectful manner and promote commitment to the organization's vision and values.
  • Acknowledge customers, help locate products, and provide solutions.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes.
  • Cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
