About The Position

Responsible for managing the daily operations of mechanical and some electrical elements of their locations equipment to assume maximum utilization and efficiency of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, safety, and organization guidelines. Level I Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems. Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Requires a high school diploma or GED; welding certificate and other similar mechanical certifications preferred. Typically reports to supervisor or manager; works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline including metal work. One plus year of related experience (including small engine experience and plumbing) or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Level II Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield. Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance). Troubleshoots and diagnoses the more complex equipment problems. Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Oversee and review the work of other employees brought in to assist. Requires a high school diploma or GED; welding certificate and other similar mechanical certifications preferred. Typically reports to supervisor or manager; works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job including metal work. Three plus years of related experience or may need 2 years’ experience (including small engine experience and plumbing) with additional specialized training and/or certification.

Requirements

  • 2 or 3 + years of mechanical experience (depends on level), preferably with small motor experience and some electrical
  • High School graduate or GED, may be offset by experience
  • Valid driver’s license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy.
  • Excellent working knowledge of general maintenance
  • Some experience in electrical maintenance and repair
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, as well as communicate well with all staff and management
  • Ability to read, count, and write accurately complete all documentation
  • Ability to ensure parts are available when needed
  • Accountability and care for necessary tools provided
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Always maintain professionalism

Nice To Haves

  • welding certificate and other similar mechanical certifications preferred.
  • Associate’s degree or higher in Industrial Maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps daily, weekly and monthly service checklist on the warehouse and storage facility within all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and GreenPoint Ag EHS guidelines
  • Monitors, repairs, maintains service on all equipment to include, but not limited to, the following:
  • Elevators
  • Blenders
  • Tender Trailers
  • Loaders
  • All shop equipment
  • All electrical components, as well as mechanical components
  • Present a positive, professional image of GreenPoint Ag, its products and its programs
  • Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical).
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
  • Performs equipment failure analysis (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
  • Prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.
  • Oversee and review the work of other employees brought in to assist.
