Location: 850 76th Street S.W. - Byron Center, Michigan 49315 Position Summary This position will be responsible for retail store labor forecasting and scheduling, developing labor standards, workforce planning, monitoring performance, and reporting results to store and retail operations experience.

  • Labor Forecasting and Scheduling: Use analytical tools to analyze historical sales and traffic data to forecast labor needs by store, department, and time of day.
  • Develop labor models that align staffing levels with expected customer demand.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to create optimized schedules that meet both business needs and employee availability.
  • Labor Standards Development: Establish time standards for key tasks (e.g., stocking, cashiering, etc).
  • Conduct time and motion studies to validate labor standards.
  • Update labor standards based on changes in store layout, technology, or processes.
  • Workforce Planning: Determine optimal staffing levels for new store openings or remodels.
  • Support seasonal labor planning and hiring strategies.
  • Align labor plans with corporate budgets and productivity goals.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track labor utilization and productivity metrics across stores.
  • Identify variances between forecasted and actual labor usage.
  • Provide actionable insights to improve labor efficiency and reduce overtime.
  • System & Tool Management: Maintain and configure workforce management systems.
  • Oversee the training of store leaders on the scheduling tools and labor planning best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies in scheduling practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with HR, Finance, and Operations to align labor strategies with broader business goals.
  • Communicate labor expectations and changes to field leadership and store teams.
  • Support management initiatives related to labor planning.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives; provide ad hoc sales and financial analysis as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, analytics, industrial engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Seven years of experience in industrial engineering, retail scheduling, workforce management, or budgeting/financial analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Workforce Management/scheduling tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate across teams and present insights.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis, budgeting, and planning.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management capabilities and the ability to lead multiple initiatives and projects.
  • Understanding of retail operations, labor laws, processes, and financial regulations.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
