About The Position

The Key Carrier role at Homesense, a TJX Companies brand, is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers primarily perform the duties of a Coordinator but also occasionally act as a Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. This role requires open availability, including nights and weekends, and involves modeling exceptional customer service. The individual will act as Manager on Duty, ensuring store tasks are performed according to plan, addressing customer service issues, and providing coaching to Associates. They are responsible for executing opening/closing procedures, communicating effectively with management and Associates, and supporting various operational and safety initiatives.

Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

Able to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
Knowledge of company standard software, systems, and procedures
Knowledge of merchandise flow in stores
Proven problem solving skills
Able to effectively coach, delegate, and follow-up on multiple people/tasks
Able to act quickly under challenging circumstances
Capable of multi-tasking
Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
1 year retail experience
6 months leadership experience

Responsibilities

Role models exceptional customer service
Creates a positive internal and external customer experience
Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality
Acts as Manager on Duty adhering to company policy and procedure
Ensures store team performs tasks and activities in accordance with store plan; prioritizes as needed
Addresses immediate customer service issues and provides appropriate coaching to Associates
Exercises discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers
Maintains accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience
Ensures Associates adhere to all operational procedures
Ensures opening/closing procedures are executed according to company guidelines
Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
Provides feedback, recognition and coaching to Associates
Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promotes credit and loyalty programs
Supports and participates in shrink reduction goals and programs
Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
Other duties as assigned
