The Key Carrier role at TJ Maxx is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers alternate their role based on store needs, predominantly performing the role of Coordinator and occasionally acting as Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. This position requires open availability, including nights and weekends. The role models exceptional customer service, creates a positive internal and external customer experience, and promotes a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. Key Carriers act as Manager on Duty, adhering to company policy and procedure, and ensuring the store team performs tasks and activities in accordance with the store plan, prioritizing as needed. They address immediate customer service issues, provide appropriate coaching to Associates, and exercise discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers. They also ensure accurate Associate coverage in service areas for a positive customer experience, ensure Associates adhere to all operational procedures, and execute opening/closing procedures according to company guidelines. Effective communication with management and Associates is crucial for setting and addressing priorities and providing progress updates. The role involves providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback, partnering with Management on Associate training needs, and ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures. Key Carriers promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness to maintain a safe environment.
