About The Position

The Retail Events Supervisor is responsible for overseeing commission-based retail operations during concerts and special events at Spectrum Center and its kiosk locations. Reporting directly to the Director of Retail, this role plays a critical part in driving merchandise sales, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering a top-tier guest experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail management, event operations, or merchandising.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a fast-paced, event-based, or entertainment venue setting strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems; experience with Atvenu preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and manage large teams.
  • Proven ability to provide outstanding guest service and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on the event calendar.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with touring production staff to ensure all products are accurately set up in the Atvenu system.
  • Manage consignment operations for concerts and events, including event settlements with third-party representatives.
  • Coordinate with Spectrum Center staff to identify and prepare display locations per production and venue specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked concert merchandise room, ensuring readiness for all events.
  • Develop and distribute customized Merchandise Set-Up Plans for each event.
  • Train event retail staff on proper Atvenu POS system use and cash-handling procedures.
  • Supervise retail event staff ranging from 1 to 60+ team members per event, ensuring efficiency and professionalism.
  • Partner with the Senior Manager of Marketing to support retail-focused social media content and promotions.
  • Complete and submit event and concert sales reports for the Director of Retail and the Hornets Sports & Entertainment Finance team.
  • Foster a guest-first culture, training and empowering staff to provide exceptional service in line with Hornets Sports & Entertainment standards.
  • Enforce all employee dress code, attendance, and conduct standards during events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
