Learn more about us at utahfoodbank.org Job Purpose: - The Retail Donation Coordinator at Utah Food Bank is responsible for managing and optimizing the donation process from retail partners. This role involves coordinating the collection, transportation, and distribution of donated goods to ensure efficient and effective support for community food programs. The coordinator will play a key role in fostering relationships with retail partners and ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a retail or donation coordination role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
  • Proven track record in managing donation processes, including collection, sorting, and distribution.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with retail partners and donors.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with donors, volunteers, and team members.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports to track donation trends and impact.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with retail partners to facilitate ongoing donation efforts.
  • Coordinate the logistics of donation pickups, including scheduling transportation and ensuring timely collection.
  • Monitor and assess the quality and quantity of donated goods to ensure they meet food safety standards.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and distribution teams to ensure efficient processing and delivery of donated items to food programs.
  • Implement strategies to increase the volume and variety of donations from retail partners.
  • Maintain accurate records of donations received and provide regular reports to management.
  • Train and supervise volunteers or staff involved in the donation process to ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote donation initiatives and recognize retail partners for their contributions.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to food donation and retail partnerships.
