Retail Donation Attendant
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Mid-Michigan is seeking motivated, fast-paced individuals to fill Part-Time and Full-Time Retail Donation Attendant positions at their Oxford store. This role is crucial for providing excellent customer service to donors, assisting with donations in a friendly, professional, and safe manner, and accurately recording all donations. Additionally, the attendant will be responsible for janitorial duties, maintaining cleanliness in the backroom and sales floor, and ensuring the backroom layout is orderly and efficient. The position offers career advancement opportunities through Goodwill Academy and contributes to Goodwill's mission of assisting individuals with barriers to employment and promoting extensive recycling efforts.
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts as assigned.
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Ability to reach, bend or stoop.
- Ability to stand six to eight hours a day.
- Reliable means of transportation to report to work on time.
- Ability to learn and utilize safe lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with a pallet jack.
- Ability to work in cold or warm temperatures, depending on weather and donation traffic.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to donors, assisting them with donations in a friendly, professional, and safe manner.
- Assist with customer/donor concerns, handling them professionally.
- Record all donors and donations accurately on the Donation Tracking form; record all gaylords/items accurately on the Bill of Lading.
- Assist with janitorial duties, maintaining the cleanliness in the backroom and on the sales floor.
- Maintain standard back room layout and orderliness to ensure efficiency.
