About The Position

The Retail Department Manager for Apparel, Footwear, and Gifts at Cabela's is responsible for overseeing one or more sales departments within the store. This role focuses on merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection and development, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The manager is expected to meet financial goals, execute sales plans, and maintain a productive shopping environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years in Retail Management with responsibility for one or more sales departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other PC-based applications.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships.
• Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and commissions.
• Ability to interpret financial, legal, and technical information.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.
• Demonstrated use of team management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Supervise one or more sales departments, ensuring effective merchandise presentation and inventory control.
• Meet or exceed financial plans set by the company.
• Execute all sales plans as directed by the company.
• Open and close the store, obtaining 'Manager on Duty' responsibilities.
• Maintain planograms as set by the Corporate Office.
• Staff departments with service-oriented associates, participating in interviewing and selection.
• Coordinate training and prepare/approve performance appraisals for associates.
• Prepare weekly work schedules and coach associates to promote positive customer relations.
• Resolve customer and associate issues effectively.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
