About The Position

The Retail Department Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for promoting an excellent customer experience by overseeing a team of Associates at the front of the store. This role involves ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and the promotion of loyalty programs. The coordinator leads by example through engaging with customers and maintaining a clean, organized store. Key responsibilities include training and mentoring Associates on front-end principles, coaching them on personalizing the customer experience, and managing POS coverage and breaks. The coordinator addresses customer concerns, ensures tasks are executed according to the store plan, and communicates effectively with management and Associates. They also provide and accept feedback, partner on training needs, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, support shrink reduction goals, and promote safety awareness. This position is part of TJX Companies, a Fortune 100 company and a leading off-price retailer.

Requirements

  • 1 year retail experience
  • 6 months of leadership experience

Responsibilities

  • Promoting an excellent customer experience
  • Overseeing a team of Associates at front of store ensuring prompt, courteous customer service and promotion of loyalty programs
  • Leading by example by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store
  • Role modeling outstanding customer service
  • Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
  • Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
  • Taking an active role in training and mentoring Associates on front end principles
  • Trains and coaches Associates on personalizing the customer experience while promoting loyalty programs
  • Assigning registers, supports and responds to POS coverage needs, and coordinates breaks for all Associates
  • Addresses customer concerns and issues promptly, ensuring a positive customer experience
  • Ensures Associates execute tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizes as needed
  • Communicates accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; provides progress updates
  • Provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback
  • Partners with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
  • Ensures adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
  • Promotes credit and loyalty programs
  • Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs
  • Promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned
