At TJX Companies, the Retail Department Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process efficiently and effectively as a team. This role also ensures an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers and maintaining a clean and organized store. The coordinator role models exceptional customer service, promotes a culture of honesty and integrity, and maintains confidentiality. They orchestrate truck delivery, prioritize merchandise processing, and train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles. The position involves ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicating with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient flow of goods. The coordinator monitors team productivity, coaches as necessary, organizes back stock, and upholds merchandising philosophy and signage standards. They also maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom, ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, and communicate effectively with management and Associates. The role includes providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback, partnering with Management on training needs, ensuring adherence to labor laws and policies, promoting credit and loyalty programs, supporting shrink reduction goals, and promoting safety awareness.
