Job Summary: Primarily responsible for re-purchasing and allocating core non-LP products, receiving product into our inventory system, and processing invoices. Will also assist in physically receiving product when needed and assist in visual merchandising as directed by the Director of Buying & Merchandising. The Buying & Merchandising Assistant will assist in developing organizational systems to optimize workflow efficiency and keep the retail locations appropriately stocked.

Requirements

Passionate about hospitality, good craftsmanship and New Mexico.
Affinity for Los Poblanos products, with a specific love for lavender products, gourmet foods, kitchen, and tabletop accessories.
Minimum of two years of retail buying experience.
Minimum of two years of visual merchandising experience in a luxury or boutique setting.
Extremely organized and detail oriented.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities.
This position will travel to all retail locations including Santa Fe; must have a reliable mode of transportation.
Must be able sit, stand, bend, squat, reach and walk 8 to 10 hours a day.
Able to grasp, lift, carry.
Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. in short intervals throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

Interest in organic farming, agriculture, art, and architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

Act as an ambassador and representative for the Merchant & Makers team as well as Los Poblanos in general.
Order core non-LP product; order, allocate, print stickers, communicate to Merchants Warehouse Administrator and Warehouse as necessary.
Assist in creating organizational systems including regular and seasonal pars for each retail location to keep them fully stocked.
Process shipment as required; including but not limited to: stickering, splitting product, organizing product into appropriately colored bins, labeling bins, etc.
Adhere to receiving guidelines and standard operating procedures when working in the receiving area.
Utilize Eatec to print retail stickers, receive product, create transfers, create new product, and update item pricing as directed by the Visual Merchandising Manager.
Utilize Eatec to check store stock levels to make new orders or to reference Merchants Warehouse “restock” product, and process transfers based on store pars.
Assist in Merchants Warehouse monthly/quarterly inventory.
Assists in visual merchandising at all retail locations as directed by the Director of Buying & Merchandising.
Learns the POS systems in retail locations to assist as needed.
Assists with the allocation of LP product as directed/needed.
Establishes and maintains a collaborative working relationship with Los Poblanos ownership, all managers and directors, and all team members.
Establishes and maintains a positive work environment.
Consistently communicates and models Los Poblanos vision, mission, core values and goals.
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.
Manage reordering and allocation of core non-LP product.
Manage order packet process for core non-LP product.
Pay invoices and establish positive relationships with our core vendors.
Assists in visual merchandising of retail locations as directed by the Director of Buying & Merchandising.
Utilizes inventory software, b2b platforms, Microsoft Outlook, and POS systems in retail stores as needed.
Assists with the allocation of LP product as needed/directed.
Upholds operational policies.
