About The Position

North Star Community Credit Union is seeking an experienced, service-driven Retail Branch Manager to lead operations at our Minot AFB branch. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a high-performing team, drive growth, and provide exceptional service to our members in a military and local community environment. The Retail Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all branch operations to meet organizational, financial, and service goals. You will lead and develop branch staff, ensure operational excellence, and provide high-quality service across transactions, lending, and new accounts.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in banking, credit union, or financial services
  • Associate degree OR equivalent combination of education, certifications, or specialized training
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to drive results and promote a sales culture
  • Professionalism, integrity, and strong problem-solving skills
  • NMLS registration within 2 months of hire
  • FiCEP certification and North Star Way completion within 6 months
  • Insurance License within 9 months

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily branch operations and ensure performance meets established goals
  • Hire, coach, train, and evaluate branch staff to build a motivated, high-performing team
  • Monitor branch activity including transactions, loan volume, sales, and new accounts
  • Schedule staff to ensure efficient and consistent service delivery
  • Resolve complex member concerns and account issues
  • Prepare and submit branch reports, budgets, and operational updates
  • Ensure compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Underwrite and approve loans within assigned authority
  • Promote a strong sales culture and coach employees on cross-selling opportunities
  • Maintain branch security, safety, and internal controls
  • Represent the branch in the community and foster relationships with local organizations
