About The Position

The individual will participate in an 11-week paid internship program that will offer hands on experience to learn the fundamentals of banking in a professional environment. The candidate will work alongside experienced bankers that can offer insights to help them understand the financial services industry and develop essential banking skills. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, should enjoy interacting with customers and have an interest in banking or finance.

Requirements

• Undergraduate Junior or Senior level student with minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Display professional dress and demeanor
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to ensure excellent customer service.
• Possess strong analytical and decision making skills.
• Cash handling experience helpful.
• Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
• Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However, there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work

• Ability to work 11 weeks, May through August, up to 40 hours per week.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Personal Computer Proficiency

Responsibilities

• Through observation and assignments, accurately processes routine banking transactions, service and maintenance request including but not limited to check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, account transfers, loan payments and debit card disputes.
• Consistently execute customer service standards to provide excellent customer service, resolve problems and identify customer needs.
• Maintain and balance a working cash supply.
• Display a positive and professional attitude at all times.
• Learn and apply bank regulatory, audit and compliance policies and procedures.
• Participate in sales and service initiatives, including customer relationship building.
