The Retail Backroom Coordinator at TJ Maxx is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. This role also focuses on delivering an excellent customer experience through engagement and maintaining a clean, organized store. The coordinator will role model exceptional customer service, foster a positive internal and external customer experience, and uphold a culture of honesty and integrity while maintaining confidentiality. Key duties include orchestrating truck deliveries, prioritizing merchandise processing to the sales floor, and training and mentoring Associates on merchandising and processing principles. The coordinator ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty for efficient goods flow. They monitor team productivity, coach as needed, organize and rotate back stock, and maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards. The role also involves upholding organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom, ensuring compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, and effective communication with management and Associates. They provide and accept feedback, partner with Management on training needs, ensure adherence to labor laws and policies, promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and maintain a safe environment. Other duties may be assigned.
