About The Position

The Retail Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in the resort’s retail shop. This position ensures the smooth and efficient operation of the store, including greeting and assisting guests, managing inventory, processing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized retail environment. The Retail Associate will contribute to the overall guest experience by offering knowledgeable assistance, promoting resort merchandise, and ensuring the store remains well-stocked with popular items for visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in retail, customer service, or hospitality, preferably within a resort or similar environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
Professional appearance.
Basic math skills and ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system.
Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and the internet.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist in stocking shelves or moving merchandise.
Comfortable working in a retail environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather.

Responsibilities

Greet guests in a friendly, approachable manner and provide assistance with product selections.
Answer questions regarding store products, resort amenities, and local attractions.
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and returns with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by offering recommendations, up-selling, and promoting resort merchandise.
Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process purchases, exchanges, and returns accurately and efficiently.
Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with attention to detail and in accordance with resort policies.
Maintain accurate records of daily sales, inventory levels, and customer interactions.
Monitor stock levels and ensure the store is well-stocked with essential items (e.g., snacks, RV supplies, apparel, and souvenirs).
Assist in receiving, unpacking, and organizing shipments of new products.
Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in the reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
Display merchandise in an attractive and organized manner to maximize sales.
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting store environment at all times.
Assist with keeping shelves, racks, and displays neat and fully stocked.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe shopping environment for guests and staff.
Work collaboratively with other retail associates and resort staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist in training new retail staff and providing support where needed.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on improving store operations and guest experience.
Ensure that guests have a positive experience in the retail store by being approachable, knowledgeable, and attentive to their needs.
Assist in creating special promotions or displays that reflect seasonal offerings or resort events.
Promote resort loyalty programs or special deals to guests as appropriate.
