About The Position

The Retail & Pool Maintenance Technician plays a key role in delivering both an excellent in-store customer experience and reliable field service support. This position combines customer-facing retail responsibilities with hands-on pool maintenance, helping ensure customers receive the right products, services, and solutions to keep their pools safe, clean, and fully operational.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules during peak seasons
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs (pool products, chemicals, supplies)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of pool supplies, chemicals, or outdoor living products
  • Experience using POS systems and handling transactions
  • Interest in learning basic pool water care and product applications

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Assist customers with product selection, questions, and basic pool care needs
  • Provide recommendations on pool chemicals, accessories, and seasonal supplies
  • Promote store programs, services, and special offers when appropriate
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for customer purchases
  • Handle cash, credit, and returns accurately and responsibly
  • Maintain clean and organized store displays and checkout areas
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, and chlorinators.
  • Perform timely repairs or coordinate with specialized contractors as needed.
  • Test and balance pool water chemistry to maintain optimal pH, chlorine levels, and overall water quality.
  • Maintain accurate service records, report findings, and communicate effectively with clients and management regarding maintenance status and recommendations
  • Stock shelves and ensure products are properly labeled and displayed
  • Assist with receiving shipments and organizing inventory
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to management
  • Help maintain a safe and tidy retail environment
  • Work closely with store managers and team members to meet customer needs
  • Communicate customer feedback or concerns to leadership
  • Support a positive, team-oriented workplace culture
