About The Position

We're officially recruiting for our new retail location opening in Seattle this April. We're looking for people who want to be part of building something from the ground up. This is a chance to shape the experience of a new Snow Peak space in a city where the outdoors is woven into everyday life. Purpose The Retail Associate provides our customers with a unique, customer first shopping experience. This position is a brand ambassador, responsible for generating sales by proactively engaging and connecting with our customers.

Requirements

  • High School Degree
  • Previous experience in retail with cash handling
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn new computer programs and software
  • Reliable and professional
  • Friendly and engaging
  • Communicate effectively with all types of customers and employees
  • Prolonged periods standing
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times

Responsibilities

  • Create an elevated, upbeat, welcoming experience for customers
  • Drive and increase sales by connecting with customers and asking open-ended questions to assess needs and make relevant merchandise suggestions
  • Speak with knowledge and confidence to customers about materials, styles, fit, fabrics, price and trends in the outdoor and fashion industry
  • Strengthen our brand presence by encouraging customers to engage with social networking sites and email list
  • Educate customers on brand history, products, offers, promotions, and events
  • Process customer transactions efficiently with excellent point-of-sale/cash-handling accuracy
  • Answer questions via phone or email, including notifying customers promptly regarding restocked product and special orders
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, window displays, cash-wrap areas, and back of house
  • Execute operational processes effectively and efficiently including: shipment processing, back stock replenishment, inventory counts, loss prevention
  • Communicate with internal teams and upper management, relaying special order requests, customer concerns, product issues, or sales/event opportunities to the proper team member
  • Ensure that health, safety, and security rules are followed
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned
