About The Position

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience by providing outstanding customer service, maintaining the bakery’s retail displays, and ensuring a welcoming and clean environment. This role is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases, answering product questions, packaging baked goods, and supporting daily operations of the retail area.

Requirements

Previous customer service or retail experience preferred.
Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for excellent customer service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
Basic math and cash-handling skills.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

Greet every customer warmly and create a friendly, inviting atmosphere.
Assist customers with product selections, offering recommendations and answering questions about baked goods and merchandise.
Accurately process sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling cash, credit card, and other forms of payment.
Package bakery items with care, ensuring presentation and quality standards are maintained.
Restock shelves, displays, and cases to ensure products are attractively presented and readily available.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the retail area, including counters, shelves, and floors.
Monitor inventory levels of retail items and notify management of low stock or potential shortages.
Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene guidelines in handling products.
Collaborate with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist with special orders, events, or promotions as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support the overall success of the team and organization.
