About The Position

The Retail Associate helps set the tone for an exceptional visitor experience by warmly welcoming visitors, answering questions, providing recommendations on products, efficiently processing transactions at the Point-of-Sale, and sharing information on Orlando Science Center’s Membership benefits. This role is responsible for engaging with guests, ensuring a positive experience, and maintaining a well-organized retail store.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
1-2 years of retail or hospitality experience
1-2 years of cash handling experience.

Nice To Haves

Proficient with Microsoft Office and Point of Sales applications.
Retail, customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
Exceptional time management skills, organization skills, and high attention to detail.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Warmly greet and receive guests in a welcoming manner, building rapport through conversation and honest recommendations.
Respond to customer needs by providing accurate and helpful information about products and the Science Center.
Promote and educate visitors on the benefits of membership and current promotions.
Drive sales through suggestive selling and sharing product knowledge.
Use upselling techniques to meet sales goals and enhance the customer experience.
Assist with the Point-of-Sale system, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions.
Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the retail store, restocking shelves as needed.
Participate in physical inventory counts and assist with inventory management.
Ensure the store is well-stocked and visually appealing before opening and after closing.
Contribute positively and enthusiastically as part of the team-oriented department.
Communicate effectively with team members and alert supervisory staff of potential problems or opportunities.
