About The Position

The Retail Associate at Munson Williams Proctor Art is responsible for creating memorable shopping experiences for visitors at the Museum Shop and Campus Store. This full-time position involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining the retail environment. The role requires engagement with patrons and students, ensuring their needs are met while promoting a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

Requirements

• High school diploma and a minimum of two years of retail or related experience.
• Knowledge of computerized point of sale or ticketing systems.
• Ability to perform math functions and excellent customer service skills.
• Understanding of merchandising and visual display preferred.
• Advanced personal computer skills including email, database management, and word processing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous and efficient sales service to visitors, students, and staff.
• Utilize the department POS system for selling products and tracking stock.
• Maintain an accurate inventory database and conduct inventory control.
• Handle cash registers, cash control, and daily register checkouts accurately.
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person.
• Tag and display merchandise in an attractive manner.
• Keep retail spaces clean, neat, and compliant with regulations.
• Serve on intra-departmental committees as required and complete other duties as assigned.
