About The Position

The Retail Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Retail, Dover Street Market, in all day-to-day operations, reporting, and client-focused initiatives. This role ensures seamless coordination across retail functions, assisting with client management, store administration, operational needs, and communications. This person will act as a key partner to the Head of Retail, helping drive retail excellence, elevate client experience, and uphold Dover Street Market standards.

Requirements

  • Highly motivated and confident communicator, capable of liaising across all levels internally and externally.
  • A proactive self-starter with strong initiative and a polished, professional presence.
  • Ability to shadow senior retail leadership and adopt best practices in client strategy, store operations, and service excellence.
  • Energetic, organized, and solution-oriented with a willingness to support wherever needed to drive outcomes.
  • Structured and detail-driven, yet flexible and collaborative in approach.
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience in a Retail setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market
  • Experience using retail systems; knowledge of Retail Pro is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and client-service mindset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative and operational support to the Head of Retail
  • Assist in the organization and distribution of client lists, reporting and store communications.
  • Stay up to date on product launches to support client outreach and allocation needs.
  • Coordinate with the VIP team to support daily client-focused actions and store appointments, including product pulls, processing, and billing support when required.
  • Support planning and execution of retail initiatives, client engagement activities, and events to ensure seamless store operations.
  • Tracking and reporting store KPIs (traffic, conversion, AOV, CRM growth, sell-through
  • Maintaining and preparing store operational documents/checklists
  • Supporting CRM data integrity and reporting
  • Supporting system rollouts (POS, CRM upgrades, new reporting tools)
  • Assisting with gifting programs, follow-up communications, and client notes
  • Contribute to overall business performance through strong task execution, prioritization, and time management.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, delivering on deadlines and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactively support the Head of Retail in identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen client relationships, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain operational excellence by upholding DSM standards and ensuring compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Dover Street Market brand and culture, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and service excellence.
