The Retail Assistant Store Manager collaborates with the store leadership team and staff to implement store operational objectives aligned with the annual operating plan. This role involves decision-making in areas such as customer interactions, team member management, operational issues, business planning, priority setting, staff scheduling, performance appraisals, and compliance with company policies. The Assistant Store Manager also supports the Retail Store Manager in all business aspects. The position requires promoting a positive work environment that upholds the company's vision, mission, and core values of Teamwork, Respect, Uprightness, and Empowerment in all interactions with team members, donors, customers, management, and persons served. Essential functions include assisting with staffing, providing clear job responsibilities and expectations, ensuring new employee orientation and training, responding efficiently to production goals, communicating effectively at all organizational levels, leading hands-on by performing all store job functions, understanding logistics and transportation, assisting with goal setting and skills development, providing performance feedback, leading assigned shifts, meeting revenue and contribution targets, monitoring production and donations performance, ensuring quotas are met, planning and directing team member activities, scheduling employees to control payroll and ensure coverage, maintaining a clean, fun, and safe environment, providing maximum customer service, maintaining proper displays and merchandise presentation, adequately stocking and maintaining the store, managing loss control, monitoring sales, cash management, inventory control, merchandising, and appearance, ensuring accurate and timely sales reports, maintaining effective communication with support staff, and planning daily huddles and monthly meetings. The role requires flexibility to work evenings, holidays, overnights, and weekends, and performing store housekeeping duties.
