About the position

The Retail Assistant Manager at FedEx Office and Print Services plays a crucial role in leading a store business unit, with a primary focus on creating a consistent and positive customer experience. This position involves assisting in the supervision and oversight of all team members and business operations, ensuring that all production and retail processes, including pick-up and delivery, shipping, and quality control, are monitored and facilitated effectively. The Retail Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the store in the absence of the Store Manager and is expected to perform all functions typically carried out by team members. In this role, the Retail Assistant Manager demonstrates consultative behaviors to ensure that friendly, polite, and expert service is delivered to all customers. They evaluate the efficiency and productivity of team members, striving to create positive customer experiences. When necessary, they resolve customer disputes and complaints to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager is tasked with creating a customer-focused environment across all areas of the store, including production, retail, self-service, and shipping, while maintaining a clean and professional atmosphere. Additionally, the Retail Assistant Manager establishes and manages processes for customer flow within the store to enhance the service experience, ensuring that customer needs are met promptly and that quality products are delivered. They provide training and development for team members during assigned shifts, monitor goals, and offer constructive feedback. The role also includes interviewing job applicants, complying with company hiring policies, and assisting the Store Manager with the hiring process. Coaching, counseling, and providing feedback to team members on their performance is essential to ensure adherence to company policies and standards. The Assistant Manager maintains communication with the Store Lead Consultant and/or production team to ensure that deadlines are met and quality checks are performed. They oversee shipping-related services and activities, communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals, and ensure that performance metrics and customer issues are addressed. Compliance with FedEx Office established policies and procedures is critical, as is maintaining an environment of controls. The Assistant Manager assists the Store Manager in reviewing and transmitting payroll and closing out the point of sale (POS) system daily, along with performing other administrative duties as needed, such as scheduling, payroll management, training compliance, and inventory control.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • 1+ year of related experience, prior supervisory experience preferred
