Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties to minimize the risk of injury.

Nice To Haves

College graduate preferred
Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)
Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment

Responsibilities

Asset Protection Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
Taking appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehending individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective
Conducting surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
Monitor video via CCTV and assist in on-site interviews
Developing and maintaining knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
Assisting in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor
Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls
Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays based on business needs
Safety Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores
Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
Make regularly scheduled floor walks to ensure the safety and security of the customers and facility
First Responder React as necessary and assist in handling any situations – shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather
