About The Position

Tri Star Energy is currently seeking an experienced and qualified Retail Accounting Analyst to join our innovative Accounting team in our Store Support Center in Nashville, TN . The Retail Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting with the efficient and accurate processing and recording of retail transactions, retail closing processes and performing accounting functions within the various financial systems, journal entry preparation, reconciliations, and serve as backup to other core accounting functions. This role also provides input to and participates in various Accounting and Finance projects, as assigned. The Retail Accounting Analyst provides direct support to the Supervisor, Retail Accounting. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education and experience in job-related activities

Nice To Haves

  • Masters in Accounting, Finance
  • Experience in a retail environment or within the fuel/petroleum industries

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and analyzes retail accounting information to identify trends and developments in the retail line of business and to make timely suggestions that increase the accuracy of month-end results and decreases future inefficiencies.
  • Assists in the reconciling, researching, and recording store inventories.
  • Performs general ledger reconciliations, accruals and posting of adjusting journal entries.
  • Assists with developing and maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting and audit processes to ensure adequate and timely sharing of pertinent information for Operations to make timely business decisions.
  • Consistently and effectively communicates daily, weekly, and monthly explanation of all audit variances to Operations and management.
  • Demonstrates thorough understanding of the responsibilities of the Sr. Retail Accounting Specialists and Retail Audit Specialists and serves as support when needed.
