The Restructuring Senior Associate at Alvarez & Marsal will work closely with underperforming businesses across various industries to navigate their restructuring processes. This role involves advising on all aspects of restructuring, from strategy development to cash management, and aims to create lasting positive impacts on organizations. The position offers a diverse range of experiences and projects, allowing the associate to apply their analytical skills and financial knowledge to improve overall performance and enterprise value.

  • Work closely with companies to help underperforming businesses navigate their restructuring process.
  • Advise on every aspect of the restructuring process, including strategy, cash conservation, and business plan development.
  • Build and manage 13-week cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct liquidation analysis to assess the feasibility of Plans of Reorganization.
  • Collaborate with clients to create long-term business plans to track performance and manage working capital.
  • Implement cash conservation strategies and controls.
  • Develop pre-bankruptcy plans and assist with bankruptcy case administration.
  • Support marketing initiatives by assisting with pitch preparation.
  • Lead a work stream within a project and mentor junior resources.
  • Build consultative relationships with clients to understand their processes and financial positions.
  • At least 6+ years of work experience in corporate restructuring, investment or commercial banking, and/or consulting or corporate positions with a financial or accounting focus, with 4+ years of direct restructuring experience.
  • BA/BS degree and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or related analytical fields.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word.
  • Professional certifications such as CTP, CIRA, CPA, or CFA preferred.
  • Understanding of Chapter 11 proceedings.
  • Advanced experience in financial modeling, including building cash flow forecasts and 3-statement financial models.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP), Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
  • Competitive salary range of $160,000 - $185,000 annually.
