About The Position

Working in close partnership with the school culture and emotional supports teams, the Restorative Practices Coordinator serves as a key leader and resource for implementing and sustaining restorative practices across the school community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge and experience in restorative approaches and best practices
  • At least 3 years of previous successful experience working with urban youth - school-based experience preferred.
  • Positive attitude, sense of humor, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get a job done
  • Ability to work well individually with a team
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to engage students, parents, colleagues, and community members in supporting youth development

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture that promotes a restorative approach to relationships and conflict
  • Work with school leadership and culture team to foster a restorative school culture that supports the academic and social-emotional success of each student.
  • Coordinate proactive restorative practice efforts and action items for students and staff
  • Facilitate restorative conversations between members of the school community and de-escalate students crisis situations.
  • Intentionally use data as a tool to identify trends in behavior
  • Create a restorative practice program for student leaders to de-escalate conflict among peers
