About The Position

As a Restorative Nurse for a Grace Management Services facility, you will be responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing restorative care services and its programs in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility. You will meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, and therapy departments to plan restorative care, develop and maintain restorative care standards, and assist in standardizing methods for restorative care. You will also review policies and procedures, participate in discharge planning, and assist the Quality Assurance Department in maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for restorative care services. This role requires you to assume authority and accountability for directing restorative care services and to maintain communication with families and residents.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in long-term care facilities.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance programs.
  • Familiarity with MDS assessments and care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate and direct restorative care services.
  • Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, and therapy department to plan restorative care.
  • Develop and maintain restorative care standards.
  • Review restorative care policies, procedures, manuals, and job descriptions annually.
  • Interpret restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, and family members.
  • Participate in discharge planning and development of resident care plans.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Department in developing and maintaining a quality assurance program.
  • Direct restorative care services and make recommendations to the administrator.
  • Maintain liaison with families and residents.
  • Evaluate and implement recommendations from the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide guidance and training for new and/or less experienced personnel.
  • Review complaints and grievances made by department personnel.
  • Maintain a working relationship with the medical profession and other health-related facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain an effective orientation program for new employees.
  • Participate in workshops and seminars to maintain professional status.
  • Ensure that restorative personnel follow established infection control procedures.
  • Assist in developing restorative care plans for individual residents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
  • Act as a Charge Nurse and cover various shifts as needed.
