As a Restorative Care Aide (RCA) at Glenwood Skilled Nursing & Therapy, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. This position is designed for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) who have a passion for restorative care and are eager to make a positive impact in a skilled nursing facility. Your primary responsibility will be to provide care that focuses on strengthening muscles, assisting with mobility, promoting independence, and preventing functional declines among residents. You will work closely with the Staff Nurse to ensure that each resident's care plan is followed and that their individual needs are met. In this role, you will encourage residents to perform tasks independently, as appropriate, and assist them in their daily activities. You will practice good body mechanics to prevent injuries to yourself and others while delivering restorative nursing care. This includes providing proper body alignment, utilizing positioning devices, and applying contracture padding as needed. Monitoring and assisting residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you strive to promote their involvement to the highest extent possible. Additionally, you will evaluate and document the progress of residents, communicating your findings to the Staff Nurse. It is essential to report any adverse conditions experienced by residents during restorative care, including pain or discomfort, to ensure their safety and well-being.
