About The Position

The Restorative Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at LifeSpan Therapy plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by promoting their independence and functional abilities. This position focuses on providing specialized restorative care that supports residents in regaining and maintaining their physical capabilities through consistent, compassionate assistance. The Restorative CNA collaborates closely with nursing staff and therapists to implement individualized care plans that address mobility, strength, and daily living activities. By monitoring patient progress and reporting changes, the Restorative CNA ensures timely interventions that contribute to improved health outcomes. Ultimately, this role is essential in fostering a supportive environment that encourages resident dignity, safety, and well-being.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Indiana.
  • Demonstrated experience in resident care within a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications for documentation and communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience specifically in restorative nursing or rehabilitation care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and encourage patients.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers quality care in a compassionate manner with kindness and respect for resident dignity and individuality.
  • Receives and completes all patient care assignments and other activities assigned by the Therapy Supervisor.
  • Provides direct care to improve or maintain a resident's abilities according to the resident's plan of care.
  • Provides care in a manner that protects and promotes resident rights, dignity, privacy, confidentiality, self-determination and active participation.
  • Responds to call lights/buzzers promptly (within 5 minutes of first ring), courteously treating each as an emergency until answered.
  • Records accurate, legible information about resident care, conditions, and observations in the appropriate locations in the clinical record.
  • Observes and immediately reports to the Charge Nurse and Therapy Supervisor significant changes in a resident's psychosocial behaviors such as patterns of decreased social interaction, angry or sad behaviors, and refusals of care or treatment.
  • Always follows infection control procedures.
