About The Position

The Restorative Aide (Direct Care) plays a vital role in supporting the physical and emotional well-being of individuals in care settings by assisting with restorative and rehabilitative activities. This position focuses on helping clients maintain or improve their mobility, independence, and overall quality of life through personalized care plans and therapeutic exercises. The Restorative Aide works closely with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to implement and monitor restorative programs tailored to each individual's needs. By providing compassionate, patient-centered care, the aide contributes to the prevention of physical decline and promotes recovery and functional improvement. Ultimately, this role is essential in fostering a supportive environment that encourages clients to achieve their highest level of independence and wellness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or direct care setting preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of restorative care principles and techniques.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with elderly or disabled populations in a restorative or rehabilitative capacity.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and documentation standards.
  • Training in CPR and First Aid.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily restorative exercises and activities as prescribed by therapists or nursing staff.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress and response to restorative interventions accurately and timely.
  • Support clients with mobility, including transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices, ensuring safety at all times.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to update care plans and communicate any changes in client status.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to clients to motivate participation in restorative activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment conducive to therapeutic activities.
  • Adhere to all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to direct care and restorative services.
