About The Position
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Cover surfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, or brushes. Review work orders or receive instructions from supervisors to determine work requirements. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as metal or wood for finish coats. Apply paint, stain or other finishes to equipment, buildings, or other structures , using brushes. spray guns, or rollers. Prime and paint walls as required by way of work orders. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding or scraping Waterproof areas, using water proofers or caulking. Perform other duties as assigned. Educational requirements: High school diploma or equivalent is plus. Work Experience and Minimum Requirements: 1 to 3 years of experience in painter and/or plastering. Working knowledge of materials, methods, and hand tools in painting and plastering. Must be available for emergency work. Bi-Lingual is a plus.
