About The Position

The restoration specialist will lead and participate in a team responsible for collecting baseline data to support the development of preliminary, final and construction restoration plans. Additional duties include project planning and analysis, developing the company’s LiDAR data collection capabilities, and preparing technical reports. This role will require fieldwork, which may include assisting with field surveys and providing construction oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, surveying or a related field, and/or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Associate or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience and certifications in a related field, may be considered.
  • Zero to three-plus years of related work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, including profiles and stationing.
  • Ability to obtain an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, RiverMorph and HEC-RAS.
  • Strong teamwork, self-motivation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Positive attitude and team-centered approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel to sites as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in fieldwork to collect baseline reference data.
  • Collect and report critical survey field data to ensure construction complies with engineered designs.
  • Operate Trimble®, Topcon or Leica survey equipment, including GPS and robotic total station.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control on field data.
  • Run OPUS solutions.
  • Operate, or learn to operate, an unmanned aircraft to collect LiDAR data.
  • Post-process raw survey and LiDAR data for use in restoration design.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Provide stream restoration design support, assist in plan production, and produce maps and technical reports.
  • Perform duties in accordance with OSHA and MSHA regulations, company safety procedures, company policies, and state and federal environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
