Mass Audubon is seeking a self-motivated, organized, and friendly individual to join our Ecological Restoration Program. The ideal candidate will have experience as a project manager and a strong passion for ecosystems and their restoration. In this role, you will work closely with the Director and other staff to manage and collaborate on the assessment, design, permitting, and implementation of various restoration projects, including river, estuarine, and wetland restoration. This position requires social confidence and the ability to lead teams and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local, state, and federal agencies, watershed organizations, and Indigenous-led non-profits. As a Restoration Ecologist, you will be responsible for managing ecological restoration projects on land owned by Mass Audubon and on land owned by others. You will coordinate closely with the Director of Ecological Restoration to develop and advance these projects. Your tasks will include collecting and summarizing data to describe restoration site characteristics, preparing project summaries, budgets, schedules, and permit applications, and developing scopes of work and contracts for consultant services. You will also organize meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and work directly with various partners to ensure project success. Additionally, you will have opportunities to make public presentations and lead site tours, sharing your knowledge and passion for ecological restoration with the community.
