About The Position

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Restoration Ecologist - Stewardship Crew Intern our Naperville, Marengo, or Mokena, IL offices. The Stewardship Crew Intern willplete all aspects of restoration work and have the opportunity to work directly with our senior ecologists. Most projects are within an hour of our offices.

Requirements

In pursuit of an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Natural Resources or a related field.
Must acquire herbicide license within 30 days of start date.
Ability to travel throughout the Chicagoland, Central Illinois, and Northwest Indiana areas (own transportation).
Candidates must be willing and able to travel on short notice and stay overnight as needed.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid Driver's License.
Ability to move and carry 35-50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be willing to work outside.

Responsibilities

Complete all restoration work aspects, including planting, seeding, erosion control methods, brush cutting, and herbicide application within stream, prairie, wetland, and woodland restoration areas.
Assist with construction projects like stream restoration and detention basin retrofits.
Complete work for municipalities, forest preserve districts, subdivisions, and private clients.
